This Day In Weather History

1948 - 3 barns and 2 homes were destroyed as a strong tornado moved across Warren and Mercer Counties.  Losses from the accompanying hailstrorm were in the millions of dollars. 

1988 - High temperatures of 100 to 105 in central Illinois broke records in central Illinois.  Champaign's high of 102 degrees was the warmest August temperature on record.
