This Day In Weather History1934 - Sprinfield tied its August record high temperature set just the day before at 108. Lincoln and Decatur both reached 106, which were both August records as well.
2006 - Rainfall amounts of 7" were reported in Clay Couny, causing widespread flooding. The worst was in Louisville and Flora where numerous roads, businesses and homes were flooded. Many roadshad to be closed due to high water and several cars on these roads stalled.
