One of the better evenings in recent memory is on tap for central Illinois. We expect temperatures mostly in the 50s through 8 PM and we'll be in the 40s from there on. Skies should be mostly clear to partly cloudy and winds should be calming down to the 5 to 10 mph from the southwest.
Overnight tonight we expect clouds to slightly increase, but we'll still have a partly cloudy Tuesday. We'll start Tuesday in the upper 30s and lower 40s with partly cloudy skies. High temperatures will be in the lower 60s for the day with a southeast wind at 2 to 10 mph.
Tuesday evening we expect a round of thunderstorms to arrive. As of now, we don't expect these storms to be severe, but rainfall could be heavy at times. Overnight, the rain should slowly switch to a wintry mix, and eventually mostly snow. Currently, it looks like the morning commute could be slick in most areas for Tuesday morning. Snowfall amounts will likely be in the 2 to 4 inch range, but will be a heavy wet snow as well.
