CHARLESTON – A video recently surfaced on YouTube giving people an inside look at a shooting which happened at a college party. The incident happened earlier this month near the EIU campus. Police are still searching for the suspects who pulled the trigger.

The video is starting to go viral among EIU students, past and present. They can't believe it happened, but now there's video prove that it did. Smiles and waves to the camera; the video shows what looks like a fun time among friends.

"We all the way in Charleston Illinois,” one person said to the camera.

Soon, the camera finds its way inside where a large crowd, estimated in the hundreds, is starting to build. Suddenly, you hear what sounds like two shots over the music. A few seconds later, two more loud bangs erupt followed by screams.

"I kind of get the chills hearing it, just watching the video itself,” said freshman Jack Arkus.

Most students on the EIU campus already knew about the shooting, but say seeing and hearing the video was eye-opening.

“Sounds like everyone is kind of fearing for their lives because they don't know what to expect, so you know, I think it's kind of disheartening in a way that that happened here,” he said.

Eventually the person with the camera gets outside. You can see paramedics helping the people who were hurt.

"I don't want to go out to like a barn party. I know I’m not going to go to a barn party again. I don’t know about that," said freshman Jake Jervis.

"At the end of the day those students do go to this school. Could be in our classes, your neighbor or someone," said Arkus. "Now you got to think twice about what you're doing when you go out at night, who you're hanging out with, and what you're doing."

Phi Beta Sigma is the fraternity that hosted the party. It's been temporarily suspended pending the results of the investigation.
