On Friday, Fighting Illini senior Allison Falkin and junior Melissa Kopinski both picked up preseason national rankings and invitations to the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships. The tournament starts on Sept. 28 in Westwood, Calif., and moves to Pacific Palisades, Calif., after the pre-qualifying round.

He is hoping the chance to go against some of the world's best up-and-comers will help take his game to the next level when he starts his junior year at the U of I. Kopinski entered both the singles and doubles draw at the Ursula Beck Pro Tennis Classic in Decatur this week. He lost his singles match Wednesday morning in straight sets, but he has high hopes for a big junior year.
