The Climate Prediction Center is calling for below normal temperatures and slightly wet conditions for August. A big reason for this is because the pattern we're currently stuck in, isn't moving. An area of cold air over Canada is spilling into the Great Lakes region and keeping this area cool.
Typically, high temperatures in August average in the lower to middle 80s. Low temperatures typically fall into the lower to middle 60s. Rainfall usually adds up to 3 to 4 inches. You can click on the links above for a city by city breakdown across the state from the Illinois State Climatologist.
