Large System Thursday to Late Friday

After Sunday's wintry mix, we look to have an even larger system track through the area for the middle to end of the week.

As the system approaches, we will see more clouds and much warmer temperatures on Wednesday with some light rain showers.  Most of the rain we look to see, however, will be on Thursday.  It could actually amount to around 0.5" or more with temperatures in the low 50s.  Our computer models wanted to go even higher, but we'll need to wait and see.

As the circulation moves eastward we'll have another wave of moisture move along the front and that will bring winter weather.  We have a chance of wintry mix late Thursday night into the early morning hours on Friday, but then it changes over to light snow by the afternoon.  There aren't signs of significant accumulations with this disturbance and most of the wintry mix seems to be in the form of sleet, so no major icing is expected for much of the area.  The only area we're concerned about is the southeastern parts of Central Illinois, which would include Jasper, Clark, and Crawford counties.  Be safe!
