Moving from the sun past Mercury is Venus. Venus is 67 million miles away from the sun and takes 224 days to orbit it. Venus also has no moons and is the 3rd smallest planet.
The next of the inner planets is Earth! We are located 93 million miles away from the sun with a 365 day year, because that is how long it takes to orbit the sun. The Earth has one moon and the 4th smallest planet in the solar system.
Starting the outer planets, Jupiter is next on the list. Jupiter is 483.5 million miles away from the sun and takes 12 years to orbit the sun. Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system with a whopping 63 moons!
Following Jupiter comes Saturn. Saturn is 891 million miles away from the sun. It takes 29.5 years to orbit the sun and has 60 moons. One of its moons, Titan, is larger than the planet Mercury itself! Saturn is the 2nd largest planet.
Our final planet in the solar system is Neptune. Neptune is 2.79 billion miles away from the sun and takes 165 years to orbit. Neptune has 3 moons and is the 4th largest planet in the solar system.
