This Day In Weather History

1903 - A tornado touched down 2 miles southeast of Lincoln and moved northeast to Waynesville.  The tornado peaked at F2 intensity.  No one was killed.  Douglas County had a tornado 4 mile northeast of Atwood, killing a mother and baby. 

1945 - A family of small tornadoes moved across Adams County, accompanied by downburst winds.  Damage in Quincy was reported to be $2.2 million with significant damage to the business district, including the loss of the courthouse dome.
