Weather Almanac For 4/22
This Day In Weather History1888 - 3 people were injured when a tornado hit the south edge of DuQuon. A two story brick building was leveled and barns lost their roofs. A train engineer saw the funnel approach the town and was able to stop the train in time to let the tornado pass.
1963 - One person was killed when a tornado caused a path of destruction from Illiopolis to Decatur. The fatality was a man who was carried 200 yards by to tornado. The storm also produced two inch hail in Decatur. The tornadoes path was nearly identical to the tornado which moved through on April 19th, 1996.
