Weather Almanac for February 5th

Weather Almanac For 2/5

This Day In Weather History

2008 - Dense fog caused by mild temperatures, rain and a quickly melting snow pack closed numerous schools and causing many traffic accidents.  One person in Vermilion County was killed in an accident.  In the afternoon, thunderstorms formed along a warm front.  This led to some severe weather south of I-70, with winds gusting from 60 to 70 mph.  Flash flooding was reported on both sides of the front, due to the heavy rain and quickly melting snow.
