This Day In Weather History2002 - A winter storm produced freezing rain and snow across central Illinois. Up to 1/2 inch of ice accumulations were common across Fulton, Southern Peoria, Mason, Tazewell, Woodford, and McLean Counties. Some localized areas in Woodford County saw 1 inch of ice near Eureka. Just north of there, 6 to 9 inches of snow piled up across Knox, Stark, Marshall, and northern Peoria Counties along with 1/4 to 1/2 of ice as well. Several trees and power lines were downed from ice accumulations across Peoria and surrounding counties. Power outages lasted anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days.
