This Day In Weather History2005- Drought conditions were becoming widespread over much of central and northern Illinoi, having developed during April and May. Many locations received less than an inch of rain during the month, with a few locations only receiving a quarter inch. Water restrictions began to be implemented, especially in northern Illinois.
