This Day In Weather History1990 - 12 tornadoes touched down in Illinois, part of a nationwide outbreak across two days that produced 64 tornadoes. One tornado touched down near Westervelt in Shelby County and moved along an 8 mile path near Lake Shelbyville to northeast of Findlay. 16 homes were destroyed and another 60 were damaged. Another tornado near Edgar County damaged 6 buildings near Grandview and another tornado that started near Horace was on the ground for 11 miles and damaged several farms.
