Weather Almanac For 5/15
This Day In Weather History1968 - In 55 minutes 6 tornadoes moved through DeWitt County. Most of the damage was in the northern part of the county from Wayesville to Farmer City, with the most severe damage in Wapella. Four people were kille and 56 injured in the Wapella and Waynesvill areas. This outbreak was one of 3 which moved through central Illinois that day. A large area of 7 to 10 inches of rian fell in parts of DeWitt, Macon, Piatt, and Champaign Counties.
