This Day In Weather History1954 - Effingham reached 105, the highest temperature for the city in September on record.
1969 - A strong tornado touched down in Kankakee County, doing damage to 4 homes near St. Anne. Other farm buildings were damaged along the 2.5 mile pather.
2006 - 5 to 10 inches of rain fell in small area of the eastern part of Rockford. There was severe flooding produced along Keith Creek. Hundreds of basements were flooded and 15 homes were left uninhabitable. Streets and parking lots were flooded and cars submerged in water. Damage was around $20 million.
