Tracy Abrams, Nnanna Egwu and Joseph Bertrand combined for just four points on 1-11 FG at Penn State. It was freshmen Kendrick Nunn and Malcolm Hill who saved the day.
"My teammates were cheering me on and telling me to be aggressive," Hill said after scoring 11 points against the Nittany Lions. "For the first time in a long time I felt like my old self, which is a good thing for not only me but for the whole team. Hopefully me and Kendrick stepping up big will give this team a lift."
Hill and Nunn combined to score 30 points in Sunday's win, and head coach John Groce says he plans on starting both again tonight against the Huskers.
"It's different starting vs. sitting on the bench," Nunn said this week. "Sitting on the bench you can analyze players, and see how the game is going. But starting, I guess you have to go throw the first punch."
